Rubicon Project, which automates the buying and selling of advertising, has nine international locations and processes trillions of transactions within milliseconds every month. Considered the NASDAQ of advertising, it was imperative to have VoIP telephony and unified communications platform that would enable the offices to be in constant touch with one another.
Considering that the automated advertising platform is used by more than 500 of the world’s premium publishers to transact with over 100,000 ad brands globally, 8x8 (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of cloud-based unified communications, seemed the ideal choice.
“8x8’s cloud telephony services deliver the rich capabilities and voice quality we need with almost zero IT intervention from us. Instead of maintaining hardware, we can focus on running the business,” said Tim McQuillen, chief knowledge officer of Rubicon Project.
As a result of 8x8's virtual office solution, users were able to take or make calls using their desk phones, PC-based soft phones, or smartphones. Using chat and video capabilities, employees could communicate and collaborate more easily, and when they wanted to contact other global offices, 8x8's unified company directory and 4-digit extension dialing came in very handy.
Although Rubicon's previous hardware-based PBX (News - Alert) worked efficiently, it lacked modern phone features like extension dialing between offices and voice email-to-email integration. 8X8 Virtual Office business VoIP and unified communications overcomes these limitations.
8x8 enabled Rubicon Project to complete its domestic rollout in just five days band then commenced working on its international rollout. Within three weeks, the entire company was connected on the VoIP telephony platform. 8X8 delivered as per schedule.
“We had a very aggressive schedule because we wanted to complete our implementation by the end of 2013,” said McQuillen, adding, “8x8 made a number of promises to us, and kept every single one of them. Without 8x8’s support, we would not have been able to deliver this project on time.”
Impressed with the smooth functioning of 8x8's virtual office, Rubicon Project has implemented over 300 8x8 Virtual Office extensions, including mobile apps for iOS and Android (News - Alert) devices.
Thus 8x8's virtual office combined with its unified communications features gave Rubicon just what it was looking for. Not only did it help connect customers and colleagues around the world, it boosted productivity and its bottom line.
