Tango Telecom (News - Alert) provides policy control and charging solutions designed to help global operators grow their revenues and ensure smooth network traffic. The company also delivers subscriber retention solutions that deliver increased market share, higher ARPU and profits.
In one of the significant developments recently, Tango Telecom announced a deal with Robi Axiata, the third largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh, to upgrade and expand the network by leveraging Tango Telecom’s policy control capabilities.
Thanks to this partnership, Robi Axiata will be able to offer innovative mobile data plans and promotions such as tiered service level packages, roaming controls to prevent bill shock, volume and time-based quotas, pay-per-use packages and dynamic on-demand self-care options, officials at Tango Telecom said.
The partnership leverages Tango Telecom’s expertise in policy control to deliver use cases such as Dynamic Pricing for Data Services to the operator’s rapidly growing subscriber base. As a result the operator will be able to price and promote mobile data services dynamically based on cell load, location, time of day, subscriber type and/or subscriber activity.
“We selected Tango Telecom’s Policy Controller because they offer the highest levels of features, performance, scalability and flexibility in the market,” said Pradeep Shrivastava, chief markets officer, Robi Axiata, in a statement.
“They also offer the most extensive range of out-of-box use-cases, ensuring a significant time to market advantage for us,” Shrivastava added. “Tango Telecom is the ideal partner to ensure that Robi continues to lead the way for innovative subscriber-centric services while maximizing our mobile data revenues and ensuring our subscribers stay happy and loyal.”
According to Mayoor Mahendra, vice president APAC, Tango Telecom, the deal with Robi Axiata further strengthens the company’s position as a leading provider of Policy and Charging Control Solutions in the region.
“Cost-effective, easy to install, maintain and highly scalable, our Policy and Charging Control solution will maximize Robi’s return from their subscribers’ current and future demands for mobile data and mobile broadband services,” Mahendra said.
The partnership was announced during the Enterprise Ireland (News - Alert) trade mission to Singapore and Malaysia led by Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.
Commenting on this deal, Minister Bruton said, “Tango Telecom is a great example of a dynamic, innovative Irish company seeking to sell its quality product in export markets. Securing this deal with Robi Axiata is a great achievement for the company and is a testament to the quality of their product.”
The Minister also added the government has sought to support companies like Tango Telecom through their Action Plan for Jobs.
