Veraview, the regional leader in the design, implementation, and support of unified communications, audio/visual, and control and automation systems, is now an authorized reseller for Edgewater Networks’ EdgeProtect line of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (ESBCs).

EdgeProtect, which is ideally suited to small and medium businesses that are increasingly extending the benefits of video collaboration beyond the conference room to mobile employees, business partners and customers, will be integrated by Veraview into its line of unified communications solutions to deliver solutions for voice, video, conferencing, and collaboration.

“The EdgeProtect will enhance our current videoconferencing platform, providing our customers with a more useable, manageable and operational Unified Communications solution for video,” said Ken Szczepanski, president of Veraview, in a statement.

“Edgewater’s compatibility and interoperability with our UC end-point providers, will enable us to streamline the delivery of UC, providing a high quality customer experience,” said Szczepanski.

Officials with Edgewater Networks said that the EdgeProtect resolves key challenges for video faced by small and medium businesses including firewall traversal, device interoperability, provisioning of mobile clients, quality of end user experience and security. The EdgeProtect’s easy deployment and support of standards-based NAT/firewall traversal with flexible security policy management make it an ideal solution for SMB UC networks. The EdgeProtect supports SIP and H.323. It includes an embedded gatekeeper option for H.323 signaling.

“Edgewater Networks is pleased that a company with Veraview’s experience and success in the UC market place has chosen to deploy the Edgewater Networks EdgeProtect. Together we will secure and simplify the deployment of Unified Communications,” said Dave Norman, CEO of Edgewater Networks.

Earlier in February, Edgewater Networks had announced that it has added to its high-end Enterprise Session Border Controller (ESBC) product line with the introduction of the EdgeMarc 7301.

The EdgeMarc 7301 is the ideal solution for medium business, large enterprise and service providers offering managed services such as SIP trunking and hosted PBX . It has been specifically designed for converged VoIP and data applications that are being delivered over high capacity broadband access links.
