One Source Networks’s (News - Alert) Session Initiation Protocol Trunking solution recently received the Microsoft Lync 2013 qualification.

By earning the Microsoft Lync 2013 certification, OSN has now become one of only ten service providers worldwide to currently have this qualification level.

Officials said that the testing included completion of advanced, optional SRTP and TLS support, which provides encryption of call signaling and media.

Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync is one of the most popular Unified Communications platforms today, deployed in the majority of Fortune 500 enterprises. It enables anybody in an organization to talk to anyone else -- whether inside or outside of the organization.

The SIP trunking solution of OSN uses the Sonus SBC 5210 Session Border Controller, which boasts of scalability and ability to support Unified Communications (News - Alert) and is also certified for Microsoft Lync Server 2013.

"One Source Networks is proud to be leading the industry in achieving these certifications," said Ernest Cunningham, CEO of One Source Networks, in a press statement. "Our global enterprise customers are increasingly turning to Unified Communications to stay in touch, whether on their mobile device on the road or in their corporate headquarters. Enabling them with a Microsoft Lync-certified SIP solution guarantees interoperability, while TLS and SRTP ensure the security of communications that this market segment expects."

The Sonus platform offers advanced multimedia capabilities with support for voice, video and collaboration on a highly scalable, robust architecture. It enables OSN to deliver a seamless, secure Unified Communications experience to enterprises across multiple locations and devices.

"Microsoft Lync 2013 certification is a demonstration of OSN's commitment to helping enterprises of all sizes maximize their Lync Enterprise Voice investments, and we congratulate OSN on their successful testing," said BJ Haberkorn, director of Lync product management at Microsoft. "Proven interoperability with Lync 2013 allows OSN to support enterprises' Lync deployments at all of their sites, no matter where they are located, with exceptional quality and performance."
