IPX Helps MNOs Provide Superior Voice Quality

Wholesale carrier services provider IDT is helping mobile network operators (MNOs) provide superior voice quality to end users.

The company has integrated IPX into its global network to provide greater voice quality and address the increased demand for anywhere, anytime communications as more users turn to using smart devices.

Designed to meet the i3 Forum and GSM specifications, IDT's IPX offering is a Packet Voice Internetworking Exchange that enables MNOs to connect to other operators around the world.

A high-quality, secure connection comes with measurement tools required to deliver superior services to customers.

As a result, MNOs can deliver a better-quality and more reliable connection for their customers and that improves ROI and increases brand loyalty.

IDT claims that a single connection with IDT IPX can provide users with increased security and higher QoS standards and metrics. Both security and quality of voice service is said to be better as compared to services delivered over the public Internet.

Users are also offered constant network support, regular testing on all advanced features, and proactive real-time IPX route monitoring to ensure maximum quality.

"IDT provides outstanding call quality and efficiency to operators on our network, and our IPX solution builds on that tradition," said Ben Hirsch, chief marketing officer at IDT. "Voice calls can be up to 40 percent longer when the voice quality is crystal clear, so an offering like IPX can have a significant impact on the volume of minutes carried on an operator's network."

IDT provides retail telecommunications and payment services to help immigrants and the under-banked to conveniently and inexpensively communicate and share resources around the world.

The company was in news earlier this week for partnering with cloud-based switching and billing solutions provider Telinta. Both partners will work towards enabling telecom service providers to offer high quality termination services and international airtime top-up (IATU) products.
