A host of philanthropic initiatives from retailer VoIP Supply made headlines this week. In addition, ADTRAN, ESI (News - Alert), and Toshiba released several product announcements about their newest business gateways and cloud-based management solutions.

VoIP Supply this week announced several new volunteer programs for the community of Western New York. With the E-Scrap for Camp program, VoIP Supply partners with Sunnking Electronics Recycling which makes a monetary donation for every pound of recycled material the program collects. Sunnking's donations help support Good Camp Days—a not-for-profit organization that provides support for families of children affected by cancer.

Friends of the Night People allows VoIP Supply employees to volunteer at a Buffalo soup kitchen. Employees can also take part in the company's Meals on Wheels program, urge customers to donate shoes at in-house bins to aid a local church's mission to provide money for small business ventures, participate in the Buffalo Hospice Memorial Walk, volunteer for the Hearts for the Homeless mobile soup kitchen, volunteer at the Buffalo VA Medical Center, and donate their time to the United Way Day of Caring 2014.

ADTRAN (News - Alert) announced this week the addition of a new business gateway to its product lineup. A company statement spoke about its NetVanta 6360 Carrier Ethernet Customer Edge IP Business Gateway (News - Alert). Its new product reportedly helps customers make the transition from a legacy TDM to a new IP-based gateway environment because it can handle analog and digital gateways as well as support hosted VoIP, ethernet, SIP trunking, cloud services, and WAN access on its integrated platform.

ESI also announced a new product, the Cloud PBX (News - Alert), and reportedly hopes that it too can provide a completely integrated solution for its business partners. The Cloud PBX allows business associates with an ESI desk phone to complete one-touch call recordings, personalize call routing, initiate visual voicemails, and engage in audio conferences. Cloud PBX seeks to modify how desk phones connect individually and sync with one another, and it can complete management of businesses' entire phone networks from a single cloud-based interface.

Additionally, this week Toshiba (News - Alert) announced its most recent step into application management with the release of new features for its Enterprise Manager Personal Administration tool. The new Super User addition allows business officials to remotely manage its VIPledge business telephone solution. The enhancement helps department managers configure all phones within a network from any remote location. It can handle the switching of static button functionality, call forwarding, speed dial numbers, call routing, and many other features.
