As more communication devices become available, it is important to bring together the different platforms and devices together so everyone in the organization can communicate and collaborate seamlessly. The right unified communications (UC) solution can leverage existing communications systems, and introduce new technologies in a flexible and cost effective manner. Saint Bernard Parish in Madison Wisconsin has deployed the E-MetroTel UCX50 to access these options because it wants to continue delivering service to existing Nortel (News - Alert) Norstar system users, while repurposing it to be ready for the future.
E-MetroTel provides unified business communications solutions with low total cost of ownership for public and private organizations around the world, with flexible systems that can be part of existing infrastructure or standalone setups.
According to E-MetroTel, the UCX50 is going to deliver UC solutions to the 1,000 families that are part of Saint Bernard Parish. This platform simplifies the latest SIP-based communication technology, and allows users to manage the system through a web-based interface, in order to integrate existing analog, digital and IP phone platforms from other vendors for a seamless transition.
The UCX appliance can support organizations big and small across multiple locations, delivering business telephony features and UC applications including follow-me mobility, unified messaging, voice and video conferencing, call recording and reporting, contact center and IVR, support for SIP compliant telephones, and cost effective SIP trunks.
The UCX50E is designed specifically for small businesses with a scalable platform housed in a small footprint delivering quiet operation and low power consumption. Some of the key features of this system include: internal trunk cards, Solid State hard drive, 2,400 hours of call recording capacity, SIP trunks, SIP phones/clients and more.
"The E-MetroTel UCX was specifically developed to help customers immediately get the benefits of using UC applications by providing a smooth integration solution for their existing key system or PBX (News - Alert) investment with the latest in open SIP-based communication technology. This helps lower communication costs and makes the move to UC a reality for customers like Saint Bernard Parish," said Ardavan Nawaby, president and CEO, E-MetroTel.
Unified Communication is becoming a necessary tool as consumers move away from landlines for their communications needs. With so many different platforms in the market place, UC is able to bring together multi-channel users and allow them interact whether they are at the office, home or on location.
