Frost & Sullivan Names Vonage Best in VoIP Communications Market

Vonage has been named the recipient of Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert)'s 2014 North America Price/Performance Value Leadership Award.

The award is given each year to a company that has created a product designed to meet market and customer needs and recognizes its price competitiveness, features, ease of use and effectiveness of service.

Frost & Sullivan reviewed the Voice over Internet Protocol communication services market and found that Vonage (News - Alert)'s offerings were the most cost-effective with customers ranking Vonage 10 out 10 for customer service experience and overall customer benefits.

"Vonage has remained relevant in a market where consumers are evaluating the necessity of the home phone by providing service with great value and flexibility for the price, including the ability to make international calls from their mobile phones using their home calling plans," Frost & Sullivan research analyst Gina Villanueva said in a statement.

Vonage has approximately 2.5 million subscriber lines, connecting consumers and businesses around the world through cloud-connected devices. Vonage offers high-quality and affordable home phone service for both international and domestic callers.

One of the things that has contributed to Vonage's success has been its acquisition of Vocalocity (News - Alert) in 2013 which helped Vonage's quickly enter into the market for hosted cloud communications for small and medium-sized businesses. Through the acquisition, Vonage Business Solutions was formed.

Another thing was the development of Vonage Extensions. This allows customers to access their home phone service with a mobile phone at no additional cost, which is especially beneficial for customers with international calling plans as it gives them flexibility with regards to how they make a phone call and eliminates the need of having to buy an international calling plan from a wireless carrier.

Besides receiving Frost & Sullivan's award, Vonage has recently been granted two new US patents that will make sure that their customers receive the best call quality possible and customers' private information is protected when using public Wi-Fi hotspots.
