OnSIP Continues to Focus on WebRTC

WebRTC continues to be a major focus for OnSIP, which provides real-time communication services to over 25,000 businesses.

John Riordan, CTO at OnSIP, told TMC’s Rich Tehrani during an interview at ITEXPO (News - Alert) Las Vegas that the company’s involvement with WebRTC provides enterprise customers more value.

“WebRTC for us is enabling a set of features that are new, that allow our enterprise customers to reach their customers, more effectively, delivering a better customer experience,” Riordan said. To view the entire interview, please click here.

Just one example of these improvements is found with OnSIP’s InstaCall, which is a WebRTC-based solution. InstaCall lets an organization add single-click video sales and support to their website or application, the company explains. By using a button generator, button scripts can be located in HTML found on any webpage, the company adds.

There is also improved security for users because InstaCall voice and video chats are encrypted. Connections are easier, as well. There are no requirements to dial, use plugins, or employ phone trees. And with real-time insight, support and sales reps view caller information as they speak with the caller, (such as webpages they have visited or customer account IDs). There is also improved marketing intelligence thanks to InstaCall’s Google (News - Alert) Analytics integration.

To recognize the quality of the offering, TMC honored OnSIP’s InstaCall with a 2014 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

In addition, OnSIP’s offers InstaPhone, a browser video phone app that lets agents work anywhere and get useful information about callers.

OnSIP traditionally has focused on markets found in North America, though more global expansion is likely. There are also some other interesting initiatives from the company.

“WebRTC has been the focus for us at moment,” Riordan said. “We’ve got a lot of interesting ideas coming down the pike.” These may be found in such markets as healthcare, gaming, and law firms. One other initiative involves efforts to improve call quality in calls made to broadcast radio talk shows by listeners.
