Modern network-based services like IP video surveillance and IP telephony put a great strain on the network. Traditional means of managing a network will not be able to withstand this pressure. Hence, network administrators are always on the lookout for more help from technology.

Allied Telesis (News - Alert) has introduced its x310 Series of Fast Ethernet/Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+)/Copper stackable access switches which can be used in numerous modern day network based applications. According to the company, the x310 Series is ideal for today’s demanding IP network based applications, as it is packed with features such as Gigabit uplinks, and PoE+. It can also stack up to four units.

The x310 Series makes use of Allied Telesis Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack) technology to strengthen end-points such as VoIP phones and IP cameras. It also offers support for Allied Telesis Management Framework (AMF). For network administrators, it provides features such as zero-touch device installation and recovery which save time and money.

The x310 Series also has other powerful features to secure user access, and easily manage traffic. According to the company, x310 Series switches are the fastest in the business.

According to Seiichiro Sato, Allied Telesis director of Global Product Marketing, “The x310 Series perfectly complements our existing range of xSeries products and provides another flexible option for network access connectivity. It’s the perfect choice for IP surveillance or high-density resilient wiring closet applications where reliability and simplified management are essential. Allied Telesis is committed to reducing network administration costs and the x310 Series achieves that with powerful built-in features such as VCStack and AMF.”

At this same time, the company has also introduced x230-GP Series of Gigabit Ethernet copper access switches. Armed with Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), these switches are suited to connect and power access and security devices.
