Ingate Now Allowing Remote Upgrades to SIParator Firewall Modules

For a long time, security across communications networks has led us to the beautiful capability of being able to talk with ease without the fear of being infiltrated. Products like Ingate Systems (News - Alert)' SIParator Session Border Controllers (SBCs) have given companies the ability to communicate through SIP without having to make massive communication overhauls in order to compensate for their security infrastructures.

Now, Ingate has announced the RevUp program, which will allow customers to enjoy remote upgrades whenever they are required. The RevUp program will give customers the ability to upload new capacity, session licenses, and software modules to their SBCs wherever they are without having to have physical access to the device.

Michael Oljemark, CEO of Ingate Systems, said that “Ingate has long provided customers the ability to upgrade their SIParator to the limits of the hardware. RevUp is a continuation of our commitment to customer success. Business moves too fast to wait for a new hardware box or new software to arrive in the mail. With Ingate, customers can access the tools they need when they need them.”

This new capability will give Ingate's customers a considerable head start when it comes to keeping their systems up to date. With a SIParator, you can now add new functionality or unlock features in your hardware without having to wait for anything to happen. This more than compensates for the fast pace that is often required in a vast majority of enterprise environments.

As an example, Ingate's SIP Trunking software can be installed in a SIParator in a few minutes rather than depending on shipping. Remote SIP connectivity can be added in order to accommodate telecommuters and the software can be configured to place a bandwidth priority on certain forms of communication that are a bit more bandwidth heavy than others.

With this new technology, possibilities begin to open up that previously have been locked behind closed doors for those relying on firewalls and NAT traversal solutions made specifically for the facilitation of SIP-based VoIP communications.
