Change is something scary to think about for many. With VoIP however, there’s nothing to fear. SMB’s are leveraging VoIP technology for a plethora of reasons but primarily because of its cost-friendly, flexible and interoperable nature. As we see more and more users adopting this technology – its offering a leg up in the communication game for enterprises also willing to take to the plunge.

Edgewater Networks (News - Alert) Inc., IP-based voice, video and data service provider for enterprises, said its suite of Enterprise Session Border Controllers, EdgeMarc, is now fully interoperable with VTech’s Suite of Eris Terminal products.

“Our EdgeMarc product line is a natural fit for VTech’s ErisTerminal,” said Dave Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks (News - Alert), Inc. “As a result of our interoperability, VTech customers now have a true plug-and-play VoIP solution. We’re very happy that the industry is continuing to move in the direction of simplicity without sacrificing any of the communications capabilities.”

VTech is the world’s largest manufacturer of cordless phones and electronic learning products. It leverages its expertise to offer DECT (News - Alert) 6.0 phone solutions—including the previously mentioned Eris Terminal—in a cost-effective and reliable way.

“VTech’s new ErisTerminal SIP phones have been designed to help businesses of all sizes enjoy the benefits of VoIP while moving away from traditional PBX (News - Alert) to cloud-based solutions, without sacrificing mobility, price, reliability and usability,” said Graham Williams, Vice President of VTech’s Business Phone (News - Alert) Division. “The goal of full interoperability has been to make the transition to VoIP as seamless as possible for SMBs, reducing the downtime and expense that have put deployments off in the past."

SMBs need to hop on the VoIP train before they get left at the stations. This is a digital and highly collaborative age; technology can proof a differentiator in the enterprise market. I know change is scary sometimes, but just dip your toe in and see how it feels, I know you’ll like it.
