West IP Communications (News - Alert) announced recently that a newly-upgraded version of its Maxxis Network was now available. With these upgrades, Maxxis will include more data centers, additional bandwidth and greatly improved performance.

Louisville, Ky.-based West IP Communications offers several communications solutions from the cloud. VoiceMaxx is a cloud-based IP/PBX (News - Alert) system that comes in multiple packages, each one for a user with a certain privilege level. Higher level packages are available for executives and anyone needing a lot of access to do their job. VoiceMaxx CE works within Cicso-based environments.

The company also offers MaxxConnect IP Trunking, a solution that eases the transition from older systems to cloud-based ones. It allows companies to use existing infrastructure when they are not ready for a complete upgrade. Once it is time to upgrade to an entirely new cloud-based system, much of the infrastructure will be in place already.

Maxxis is a network designed to improve application distribution and performance within its cloud-based systems. The network traverses many major metropolitan areas, using multiple Tier 1 providers and extends overseas to the U.K .and Singapore. It is very flexible in its ability to manage resources by prioritization and re-routing network traffic to operations needing it the most. A five-fold increase in bandwidth is a key improvement as it lets customers have enough room to scale up operations without applications grinding to a near-halt.

In a sophisticated enterprise structure, especially one spread out over multiple locations hundreds of miles apart, West IP has given its customers a solution that will perform better and route application resources more efficiently than before. The system also provides admins with better security management and reporting tools to show where traffic is going and if any adjustments need to be made.

In larger IP network environments, it’s not enough to have VoIP systems that avoid the disadvantages of traditional, on-premises PBX systems. It is also important to have infrastructure and a system for managing application traffic like Maxxis. It not only allows admins to re-allocate resources where they are needed the most, but also sets up enterprise support centers for success where customers are more demanding and impatient.
