Olive Communications to Provide RBLI with Hosted Telephony Service

Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), a British national charity providing training, support, care and employment services to veterans of the Armed Forces, is deploying a hosted telephony service provided by business communications specialist Olive Communications. The new service will connect RBLI's six offices and more than 300 employees, enabling closer relationships among members of the organization and the people it serves.


Under the agreement, Olive's fixed-mobile converged solution will allow calls to be routed seamlessly through fixed lines and mobile devices using a single platform. This hosted telephony service will expand upon the mobile solutions Olive is already providing to RBLI. A jointly-devised contract will provide RBLI with free calls between its offices and Service Level Agreements that guarantee reliable communication.

"We had two primary challenges we needed to cover off before we could be confident about moving to a hosted platform: cost and control," said Kate Porter, Head of Business Systems at RBLI. "But the team at Olive have been agile and commercially astute to ensure the project came with no capital expenditure. They have also provided us with an online management portal which will help us manage call flow, obtain call stats and scale the solution as and when we need to."

Aside from more effective and cheaper communication, RBLI will benefit from the improved functionality of a fixed-mobile solution. The ability to route calls across varying devices and locations ensures business continuity, minimizes missed calls and makes PBX (News - Alert) features available on mobile devices. Furthermore, RBLI will be able to make better decisions when deploying devices to users by adopting a single pricing structure, which presents a significant commercial advantage.

"Olive has provided our mobile telephony for a number of years and consistently delivered a good service," Porter continued. "And when our fixed and mobile line contract was up for renewal, they took a consultative approach and helped us evaluate our priorities as an organization. They then recommended new technology and commercial options that could potentially help us be more productive as well as save us money. The result was opting to move to a hosted platform, and we look forward to working with them to deliver the project."
