Ingate Systems (News - Alert) today took another step toward creating an all-encompassing E-SBC product line, adding the new SIParator 98 to its line of Enterprise Session Border Controllers. The SIParator 98 extends the Ingate line to large call centers and very large enterprises, providing security and interoperability capabilities at the demarcation point between the enterprise and service provider networks.

With SIP Trunking and Unified Communications (News - Alert) adoption and use continuing to rise, being able to offer its SIParator line to effectively any size organization helps Ingate keep pace in what has quickly become a rather busy market segment. The larger the enterprise means the larger the network and, more often than not the greater the need for the interoperability capabilities of the SBC. As such, the SIParator 98, which scales to 20,000 concurrent VoIP or RTP sessions. It can be upgraded to also handle WebRTC sessions as well, positioning Ingate well in an emerging communications market that, which is still largely in flux, has tremendous potential.

“We’re seeing a growing demand for E-SBCs for large-scale SIP trunking deployments from call centers, hosted service providers and large organizations,” says Ingate President Steve Johnson (News - Alert). “The SIParator 98 meets the needs of our customers, offering the unmatched flexibility, interoperability and ease-of-use that Ingate Systems is known for.”

Furthermore, with the E-SBC market projected to continue to grow – Infonetics (News - Alert) sees the market eclipsing $350 million by 2018 (it grew 11 percent in Q3 2014, driven largely by the SIP Trunking market) – Ingate’s ability to now address the needs of effectively any size enterprise with a single appliance gives it additional leverage in the market.

The recognized benefits of SIP-based unified communications – including cost savings, business process enhancements, communications simplification and efficiency – are driving the ongoing growth of the SIP Trunking market, which, in turn provides the momentum for the SBC space. With countless UC deployment options available – on-premises, cloud, hybrid – there’s a UC solution for every business, making the added capacity of the SIParator 98 critical for the Ingate line.

The dual redundant power supplies, 6-Gigabit and, optionally, two 10-Gigabit interfaces, and RAID 1 mirrored hard disks provide ensure continuous availability, a critical element for contact centers and large enterprises, which rely on their communications infrastructure for every business operation.

The Ingate legacy of developing communications and security technology for enterprises traces back to 1982, so it was only a matter of time before it extended its E-SBC line to the upper end of the market. New CEO Michael Oljemark recently told Rich Tehrani that Ingate may have suffered somewhat from lack of recognition in some spaces, but was ready to work on overcoming that shortcoming. This product line extension is the first step in growing the brand’s presence.
