Digium & Jenne Strike Cloud Master Agent Agreement to Drive Further Business

When it comes to session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking and business telephony tools, one great combination to look to was the combination of Digium (News - Alert) and Jenne who had already been working together for some time. But that particular arrangement recently got a note of augmentation as Jenne recently joined the ranks of Master Agents in Digium's Cloud Agent Program, giving Jenne greater access to the Digium line of products.

With Jenne's new rank as a Master Agent, Jenne brought new items to its current Digium product portfolio, in particular, the Switchvox (News - Alert) Hosted Business Phone System and some of Digium's SIP trunking services. Additionally, Jenne's partners also get access to some of these new tools that not only help spread new tools to organizations, but also gives Jenne access to improved commissions in a rapidly-growing market for such tools.

With Switchvox, Jenne can offer up access to a complete unified communications (UC) cloud solution, and one that's priced in a fashion that companies can readily tell just what will be involved from the word go. Since Digium commonly uses what's known as an “all features included” pricing structure, that takes a lot of complexity out of the system. Between the SIP trunking system, Switchvox's UC capabilities, and the line of Digium IP phones that could be brought into play, the end result is a complete, fully-featured system offered up at very simple pricing levels, a prospect that many businesses will likely welcome.

Jenne's senior director of cloud services, Patrick Howard, offered up some comment around the new arrangement, saying “The demand for cloud deployed solutions continues to gain momentum in the channel. More and more Jenne channel partners are asking for cloud solutions every day. Our new cloud partnership with Digium allows Jenne to expand our cloud portfolio, meet growing demand and create new business. We're excited to be working with Digium to expand the cloud unified communications marketplace.”

Considering that Jenne and Digium have already been working together, at last report, it would make the expansion of the product line an overall smart move. When something is working well, the first instinct is to do more of that, and it's an idea that's served companies well for some time. Here particularly it works well; Jenne has already laid some of the groundwork by offering Digium products, and with an expanded Digium product line, it can not only tap previous buyers for additional product purchases, but also it can go back to those who may not have been interested at first and instead open up the possibilities to make purchases where none were made before. Offering up an expanded product line does have some advantages, particularly as Jenne can offer up tools for more points in the overall communications process. While not everyone may be interested in a start-to-finish solution, the option is on the table, and Jenne can even offer specific components to those not interested in more of an omnibus solution.

This new arrangement should prove beneficial for both sides, as Jenne and Digium work together to get more SIP trunking tools in more businesses' hands. Only time will tell just how well it works, of course, but it's likely to work quite well indeed.
