News about the appearance of major industry names at the upcoming ITEXPO Miami—set to run January 27 – 30 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida—is still arriving, even with the big event now less than a week away. This time around, the new arrival is Vertical Communications (News - Alert)' own Kevin Butler, who will be part of a panel on unified communications (UC) deployment strategies.

Butler, who serves as Vertical Communications' director of product management, joins in on the panel titled “When UC Fails, What Should You Do?”, scheduled for Tuesday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. During the course of said panel, Butler—along with several other figures in the field—will discuss the things that companies should do to make sure that a new UC rollout goes as close to according to plan as possible. Forearmed with such useful knowledge, the hope is that the companies planning to put UC in place will have a smooth launch, and discover the kind of value that UC can have when put in place and operating. Since Vertical Communications' focus is found in UC and IP telephony, that puts the company in an excellent place to know where some of the common failure points of an installation are, and how to address same ahead of time.

The panel in question is just part of what ITEXPO (News - Alert) will have to offer, featuring keynotes from a variety of different industries, and names within said industries as well as opportunities for networking and product exhibitions. Just in terms of keynotes, there will be events from Mitel (News - Alert), HP, Oracle, and Frontier, almost several others so far, and exhibitors will be on hand measuring in the hundreds. Thus those looking for an inside look at 2015 in technology, and beyond, will do quite well to show up as much of what companies have on tap for 2015—and beyond, certainly—will be on display at the big event.

It's not surprising that such a panel would be put in place, of course; knowing what to do should something go wrong is the first step to preparing for that eventuality, potentially even heading it off before it can blossom into a full-blown problem. Such a program allows companies to take a problem and, as was commonly heard on “The Andy Griffith Show”, “nip it in the bud.” Knowing what to look for in advance helps prevent many common problems from taking shape, and if the most common problems can be removed in advance, the chances of a program running without problems increase substantially. Of course, it doesn't guarantee such an event—there's always the possibility of new and unforeseen problems arising, or some less common problems making an appearance instead—but when the most common problems are out of the picture, only the less likely problems remain. Vertical Communications' experience in this field, meanwhile, should prove valuable in helping prevent said problems.

That's an outcome most anyone can get behind, and as such, a panel like this should prove particularly valuable. There will be many good reasons to hit ITEXPO, and this panel is just one among a crowd of many.
