ITEXPO (News - Alert) in Miami (taking place this week through Friday) is a launching point for many companies looking to make a splash with their new offerings. So it makes sense that snom, a developer and manufacturer of VoIP telephones and related equipment based on the IETF open standard, Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert), would use the show to roll out its latest products.

As such, snom has debuted its new wireless and desktop VoIP business solutions, the M700 DECT (News - Alert) multi-cell base station, M65 IP DECT cordless and D715 and D725 desktop business phones, at the show this week. The units are the latest additions to snom’s family of IP endpoints and VoIP infrastructure used by businesses deploying SIP based IP telephony or unified communications solutions and services.

“Snom’s new mobile DECT solutions allow businesses requiring both fixed and mobile communications for their office workforce to seamlessly and cost-effectively add this capability into their existing phone system,” said Tom Ostrander, snom Director of North American Channel Sales, in a statement at ITEXPO. “The M65 DECT phone and M700 multi-cell base station represent a new generation of feature-rich mobility for business uses at a far less cost than cellular.”

And “feature-rich” is an understatement. According to the company, the M65 handset combines business communications functionality with the intuitive features offered by mobile carriers. The M65 phone has a two-inch backlit color display and a backlit keypad for dialing in poor lighting conditions. Other features include wideband audio (including speakerphone) for crisp voice quality, six polyphonic ringtones and a vibration setting for incoming calls. The snom M700 multi-cell base station delivers expanded coverage over several floors or throughout large buildings, linking multiple M700 base stations together to form a network enabling free movement and seamless handover between base stations for uninterrupted calls while moving from one base station to the next.

Snom is demonstrating the new products at ITEXPO Booth #333, as well as its complete line of offerings.
