Private Branch Exchange Systems (PBXs) are used to provide a private network of telephones for organizations. Traditional on-premises system connect people within the organization as well as customers, vendors, and clients to the outside world. The infrastructure is hooked up to the public switched telephone system (PSTN), which has many limitations in today’s remote workforce and always-on environment. Companies that provide hosted PBX services allow businesses to thrive without the capital and operational expenditures of legacy systems. TMC, a global, integrated media company, has recognized VirtualPBX for its Anywhere Plans with the 2015 Unified Communications (News - Alert) Product of the Year Award.

VirtualPBX provides business telecommunications products and services, including hosted VoIP, disaster recovery, and phone/fax/email integration to address the communications needs of organizations.

The company’s Anywhere Plans are designed to duplicate the same PBX (News - Alert) functionalities of traditional systems without the limitations. The cloud-based phone system gives businesses control of their communication solutions so they can manage every aspect with a wide range of customization options.

“It gives me great pleasure to honor VirtualPBX as a 2015 recipient of TMC’s Unified Communications Product of the Year Award for their innovative Anywhere Plans for business,” said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), CEO, TMC. “Our judges were very impressed with the ingenuity and excellence displayed by VirtualPBX in their groundbreaking work on more VoIP solutions like the Anywhere Plan.”

The VirtualPBX Anywhere Plan services and features include: auto-attendant (a virtual receptionist), follow-me calling, information-only extensions, integrated conferencing, smart caller ID, call recording and many others. According to the company, the plan is best suited for businesses that have light phone traffic, want to route inbound calls to existing phones and need a low cost per minute used.

“The Anywhere Plan is emblematic of our collective approach to providing valuable, high-quality phone systems for businesses. With our engineers just down the hall from customer support, everyone at VirtualPBX contributes to the refinement of each product, and we’re thrilled to see that effort recognized in the Anywhere Plans,” said Lon Baker, VirtualPBX COO.

Established by the creators of the original Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) software in San Francisco in 1997, VirtualPBX still develops innovative solutions to meet the demands of today’s businesses. In addition to the technological advances, the company is proud it has a USA-based free customer support team, which is delivered from its offices in downtown San Jose.
