It’s been yet another busy week in the world of SIP Trunking. Here are some of the top stories we’ve been following this week.

Digium, the creators of Asterisk (News - Alert) and Switchvox, has recognized its channel partners with its Pinnacle Awards. The recipients included Chromis Technology, Max-IS Inc., AVENCALL and KME Systems, among others.

TMC (News - Alert) also gives out its own awards, and one of them went to VirtualPBX. TMC gave the company as 2015 Unified Communications (News - Alert) Product of the Year Award. TMC chose the company for its ingenuity and excellence. VirtualPBX provides a number of services including hosted VoIP, disaster recovery and integration of phone, fax and email systems. It even includes options like virtual receptionist and caller ID, which makes the company’s competitive with larger telecom vendors.

Toshiba America Information Systems announced IPedge Virtual Server, a software-based communications system. This Linux-based solution is intended to reside on a single physical server with existing Toshiba (News - Alert) contact center software running on VMware vSphere technology.

911 Emergency Telecom Company (911 ETC) announced that its CrisisConnect for VoIP is interoperable with Avaya’s Aura Communication Manager 6.0.1 using Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.1. Crisis Connect connects VoIP systems to local Public Safety Answering Points in an emergency. 911 ETC is also an Avaya Technology Partner.

In other interoperability news, CyberData tested Polycom (News - Alert) paging phones on two of its products, the SIP Paging Adapter and the VoIP V3 Paging server. Users of legacy paging systems will be glad to know that they passed with flying colors.

Grandstream Networks has entered into a distribution agreement with Alloy Computer Products to distributed Grandstream’s VoIP and video surveillance products in Australia. Alloy will have access to Grandstream’s product range and support resources. The two companies signed a similar agreement for the U.S. earlier this month.
