One of the greatest benefits of IP telephony is the ability to scale with a wide range of solutions. Whether you are a large enterprise or an SMB, with IP communications virtually everyone can access enterprise-grade solutions at affordable price points. Even though a computer can be used to carry out the conversations, businesses prefer standalone phones with multiple capabilities. Grandstream Networks (News - Alert), manufacturer of IP voice and video telephony serving the SMB and consumer markets, has announced that its IP video phone for Android and DECT cordless IP phones for hosted UC solutions have been certified by Metaswitch.

As a network software provider, Metaswitch designs, develops, delivers and supports commercial and open-source software solutions for network operators and large enterprises. By certifying the IP phones Grandstream manufactures, it ensures its customers the product is compatible with the communications solutions it offers.

Customers using the Metaswitch hosted IP telephony platform can automatically and securely provision the GXV3275 and GXV3240 IP Video Phones for Android (News - Alert) and DP715/DP710 DECT Cordless IP phones for mass deployment. Both of these platforms successfully completed the certification process, which brings the total number of Grandstream SIP endpoints to 24.

Using open standard SIP-based products lets Grandstream offer a broad interoperability with more features, enhanced user experience, improved productivity and the flexibility to increase capacity at a moment’s notice.

“The relationship between Grandstream and Metaswitch continues to allow service providers to offer a powerful VoIP platform with state-of-the-art endpoints that are seamlessly provisioned and quickly deployed,” said David Li (News - Alert), CEO of Grandstream.
