Capella Telecommunications, a distributor of unified communications products in Canada, has added a new face to its channel sales team.

Deborah Mitchell is now the company's new Channel Sales Manager. She brings with her a number of years' experience managing Cisco (News - Alert) and Rogers Business Solutions products along with experience in sales and network development. Her new position will require her expertise as it applies to the development of value-added resellers which handle the Teo Technologies Unified Communications (News - Alert) platform. Norm Slater, the president of Capella, commented on Mitchell's role in the company.

“Deborah brings with her an extensive background in channel sales, particularly in developing VAR networks, having worked to launch the Cisco Data Center practice with Tech Data (News - Alert), and the Rogers Business Solutions partner network,” Slater said. “Deborah strengthens our commitment to growing Teo sales in the Canadian market.”

It is likely that Mitchell will provide support in a number of areas throughout Canada. Capella has its corporate office in Peterborough, Ontario and also operates offices in both Montreal and Vancouver, so it truly has a presence across the nation.

The Teo Technologies UC platform has support for mobile and desk phones, instant messaging, conferencing, call recording, and a number of other features within a single product offering. In part, it is with that product that Capella can make its name as a provider of “innovative, leading-edge products” and continue to advance the software of the most forward-looking organizations in the communications tech market.

Mitchell will have that goal on her shoulders as she takes the position of the company sales lead. She will be charged with nurturing the VARs with which Capella already works, and with producing additional resellers as her tenure progresses.
