Just recently, we had a look at how value-added services were likely to prove a golden ticket to bringing revenues back to mobile providers. Though the idea of it was likely to prove good news enough for many providers, the brass-tacks of such a plan might have proven elusive. IVR Technologies, meanwhile, may be ready to help on that front with Talking SIP (News - Alert) Mobility, a massive new array of services geared toward helping with both billing and value-added services.

Talking SIP Mobility offers a complete range of solutions for mobile virtual network aggregators (MVNAs), mobile virtual network enablers (MVNEs), mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), and machine to machine (M2M) operators that want to offer both mobile and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services.  Included in the package is a complete convergent billing system, which can be used in connection with voice, data and SMS in prepaid, postpaid, or credit limited options. There are provisions for corporate or family plans as well as the standard individual subscriber plan. The system can also be used to throttle data as need be, and limit both voice and SMS consumption according to established limits.

The system supports both CAMEL and USSD call flows, making for the best of user experience, and can even be put to work on a global scale, using that CAMEL routing system as a means to improve call control and, by extension, profitability. Calls can be routed both off and on the mobile network thanks to the session initiation protocol (SIP) support, and from there, other services like voicemail, find-me-follow-me and a host of others can be brought into use. There are even a set of reporting tools added to help provide insights into user operations, such that the operators can provide services more in line with what the users want and need.

Talking SIP Mobility brings all of that to its users thanks to the Web Services API, a system that allows for a lot of connectivity between currently-operating Web portals, but also with third-party OSS and BSS systems alike. Backed up by a Microsoft (News - Alert) SQL Server database and an application scripting language to help further modify the system, Talking SIP Mobility has a clear focus on versatility.

Versatility is certainly important, and especially so when it comes to establishing value-added services. Value is the key component of that thought, and as such, it doesn't help to have every other provider offering the exact same services. It's one thing to offer great services, but it's another altogether to offer services no one else has. That's how a value proposition is established, and that's where Talking SIP Mobility really has a chance to shine. It's going to offer the services, of course, but it's also going to help users offer those services in a fashion that can't be immediately imitated.

Talking SIP Mobility looks to have plenty of value for network operators, and being able to get those value-added services into the market faster should prove quite a help. It will be interesting to see what more users have to say about it after it's been on shelves a while, but for now, this should have a great shot at taking a good piece of the market home with it.
