There's no doubt that ITEXPO out in Anaheim will prove to be a major source of information, as well as networking opportunities, for its attendants. With a wide array of addresses planned, as well as panel discussions and floor exhibitions, there's no shortage of opportunities for learning. One such event planned for the show features SwitchRay, who will be addressing the topic of fraud in private branch exchange (PBX (News - Alert)) operations.

SwitchRay is already well known for its line of telecommunications software, so for it to be delivering an address on PBX fraud should be a natural fit. The address itself will be delivered by the company's chief technology officer, Dr. Colin Ayer.

Ayer's presentation, entitled “Protecting Carrier Losses Due to IP-PBX Fraud”, is slated to run October 7 at 12:30 pm.  The presentation will cover how those who engage in such fraud find ways into the system, and how to, in turn, seal those points of advance accordingly to limit exposure to potential fraud.

Such protection is necessary; reports from the Communications Fraud Control Association (CFCA) note that PBX fraud accounts for “billions of dollars each year in lost revenue,” and getting even a bit of those billions back could mean opportunities for companies to advance.

The address won't be the only point of contact SwitchRay plans to have at ITEXPO (News - Alert); it will also be hosting booth #921, where it will have both its Class 4 and Class 5 softswitches on display for users to see, as well as its Web portal and its PBX fraud detection solution.

SwitchRay's CEO, Steve Petilli, offered up some comment about what SwitchRay has on hand for ITEXPO attendees, saying, “We look forward to customers coming to our booth and experiencing first-hand our state of the art Class 4 and Class 5 softswitches, our newly launched web portal and our live fraud detection demo. Our goal has always to been to address the evolving needs of our customers and provide them with cutting-edge technology and dependable business solutions.”

Businesses are commonly eager to keep a better eye on cash flow. Removing fraud from the system can produce some all-important cost savings, and in a fashion that doesn't represent a loss of potential opportunity. By removing PBX fraud from the system, businesses get to spend less for the same amount of service.

Protecting a business against fraud of any sort is generally a smart idea, and PBX fraud is no exception. So to find out how to cut this particular bit of fat out of the cash flow, and learn a whole lot more than that in the process, hitting the ITEXPO event in Anaheim, California should be a great step toward protecting the system, learning more about new systems, and finding out how to put all of these systems to best use in making the business better as a result.
