Axis Communications recently held its 10th annual Axis Connect & Converge Conference (ACCC) in San Antonio, Texas. Axis named Avaya (News - Alert), a provider of solutions that enable customer and team engagement across multiple channels and devices, as 2015 Technology Partner of the Year.

Avaya was chosen for this honor due to its “exemplary success and loyalty, delivering innovative solutions to meet customer needs.” In particular, Axis (News - Alert) cites Avaya Networking and its ability to enable faster, more flexible and reliable support for Axis video surveillance deployments as a major factor in this decision.

The Avaya Fabric Connect solution was also singled out as a contributing factor. It enables public and private sector organizations to use the same IP network for video surveillance as well as traditional voice, video and data. This type of Avaya converged network deployment essentially eliminates the need to implement and operate separate networks, reducing costs significantly.

"The Avaya Fabric Connect technology delivers industry leading capabilities that enable mission critical always-on video surveillance systems," said Alan Hase, vice president of Avaya Networking. "Avaya's Fabric Connect technology and networking products are uniquely suited to support the emerging simplicity, security and resiliency requirements of today's IP based video surveillance deployments."

Not long ago, Avaya handed out a similar award to AGC Networks, honoring the company with the prestigious 'Unified Communications (News - Alert) Partner of the Year' award at the Avaya Partner Forum awards ceremony held in Dubai on November 24. More recently, Avaya deepened its partnership with Plantronics (News - Alert), with an aim toward better compatibility, easier integration and call center tools.

"Axis partners are not only part of the industry's largest professional network, but are also an extension of our team," said Larry Newman, senior director of sales at Axis. "It is an honor to bring together the top companies in our industry at ACCC and recognize those strong relationships and shared sense of leadership in providing innovative security and business solutions. These companies are leading the way to a smarter and safer world for all."
