Supply chain consulting and business process outsourcing firm Spinnaker is now using MegaPath's (News - Alert) Duet SIP Trunking voice and data service, a combined business-class phone and high-performance 1.5 Mbps Internet T1 service.

The Duet SIP Trunking service runs over MegaPath’s dedicated network. It delivers enterprise-class phone functionality via a company’s existing IP PBX (News - Alert) — thus it enables companies to sidestep the up-front costs typically associated with VoIP migrations.

“With the Duet SIP Trunking service, we were able to leverage key features from our IP PBX, such as caller ID and call waiting, and lower costs without ever worrying about reliability or performance,” said Jeff Jorgensen, principal at Spinnaker, in a statement.

Other enterprise features that can be delivered through existing IP PBXs include unlimited phone numbers (DIDs), so employees can have their own phone number regardless of the number of lines purchased; optional dedicated port(s) for fax machines, alarm systems and other devices; and unlimited local and low-per-minute rates for long-distance calling.

In addition to the Duet SIP Trunking service, MegaPath offers traditional PRI and analog voice services, as well as nationwide broadband connectivity and managed security services.

Last week MegaPath announced that its bonded T1 service is now available at 4.5 and 6 Mbps of high-speed data transmission in both directions. These new performance options provide businesses with the ability to select the speed that best suits their needs.

The company also announced that its new MegaPath Ethernet over copper solution now delivers 10 Mbps Internet access. Using this solution, high-capacity bandwidth can be delivered to buildings that do not have access to fiber connections, or where DS3 connectivity is cost-prohibitive. This business-class broadband connection provides organizations with increased performance to support multiple users, Web sites and enterprise applications.

By offering multiple access methods, hybrid VPN services, modular security offerings, industry-specific application support and end-to-end management options, MegaPath allows enterprises to minimize their network and IT expenses. Using professional service delivery teams, systems and processes, the company delivers mission-critical reliability and performance backed by stringent service level agreements (SLAs).

MegaPath leverages its MPLS, fiber-optic backbone network through direct network and systems interconnections with the country's leading broadband access providers. The MegaPath Customer Central Portal, SmartWorX Customer Portal and SmartWorX Client software facilitate smooth implementation, management, visibility and control of its VPN, security and advanced IP services. The result is fully managed, cost-effective services with superior reach, reliability, performance and customer control.
