VoIP's NuVox Unveils VoxIP Big Bandwidth Product

NuVox, a communications provider, reportedly has launched its VoxIP Big Bandwidth product to customers across the Southeast and Midwest.

VoxIP, the company’s flagship product, is now available in 10, 20, 50 and 100MB increments on the NuVox MPLS state-of-the-art network.

“We understand the need for fast, high bandwidth applications is growing at a tremendous rate, and with the use of multiple access technologies, we can now deliver very high speed data to our customers,” said Jim Jones, director of product management for NuVox in a statement.

Jones was of the opinion that customers have started to realize that businesses rely on more than just voice and email.

He said that with the emergence of applications like WebEx, IP video conferencing, and other Software as a Service applications from companies like Google, the investment in a high-speed pipe dramatically outweighs the sometimes unnecessary expense associated with today’s high cost of business travel.

Essentially, NuVox converts a customer’s analog VoIP packets and then sends the IP packets over our private IP network. With voice service converted into IP packets, dedicated channels for voice and Internet are no longer required.

Here’s how NuVox diagrams dynamic bandwidth allocation:

NuVox VoxIP BBw services are immediately available on a limited basis to business customers in its markets in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

The company delivers customized managed communications services, information technology, data, security, and voice solutions designed specifically for business customers. It serves approximately 90,000 customers in the Southeast and Midwest, and provides select services throughout the United States.

TMCnet recently reported NuVox’s announcement regarding the availability of SIP Trunking to its Southeast and Midwest customers.

As SIP Trunking has expanded in recent years, helping businesses establish more efficient bandwidth – along with enhanced voice and data connections to the web, PSTN, and private MPLS data networking services – companies like NuVox have been rolling out services to regions of the country previous ill equipped to handle the growing technology.

Now, these company’s are banking on SIP eventually becoming the standard method of delivering voice and data connectivity to businesses.
