A joint marketing agreement has been announced between Samsung Business Communication Systems (BCS) and Voxitas. This agreement will combine the Samsung (News - Alert) OfficeServ 7000 Series of converged telecommunications platforms with Voxitas SIP trunking services.

As a result of this combination, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) will be provided with cost-effective, Internet-based, telephony solutions. With the recently completed interoperability certification between Voxitas (News - Alert) SIP Trunking and the Samsung OfficeServ 7000 Series, Samsung customers have access to worry-free, enterprise-level telephony service with as much as 70 percent cost savings over traditional telephone services.

Many SMBs are struggling with convergence and managing interoperability issues as the growing trend continues toward Internet-based telephony solutions. With the combined solution from Samsung and Voxitas, these SMBs can enjoy the seamless integration of digital and analog phone sets; computers and servers; mobile communications devices; and peripherals into a single system that offers the functionality and security of an enterprise-level system as well as the cost savings of SIP trunking.

“SMBs are increasingly interested in SIP trunking to help reduce monthly telecom costs,” said Bart Kohnhorst, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Samsung BCS, in a Wednesday statement.

“Voxitas SIP trunking offers Samsung dealers and customers a certified option to reduce or eliminate traditional trunk line costs with the assurance of equipment compatibility and reliable service.”

“We are pleased to team with Samsung in delivering a full-service, Internet-based, telecommunications option for small to mid-sized businesses across the United States. The combined strengths of the Samsung OfficeServ 7000 family of products and our telecommunications services is a win-win for customers and dealers alike,” said Matt Siemens (News - Alert), Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Voxitas, in the Wednesday statement.

“Together we can simultaneously reduce telecom costs and increase efficiency for small and mid-sized businesses. In a time when every dollar counts, this combination can help businesses control telecom costs while meeting their expanding communication needs.”

Interoperability certification is given after rigorous testing, which includes bench testing to guarantee proper SIP trunk connectivity and quality; testing in the field with actual business users over Voxitas SIP trunks; and the implementation of a “general availability” environment that relies on Voxitas SIP trunks.

SMBs are certainly not immune to the economic struggles of the current economy. At the same time, they need to be able to function in an ever-increasingly network- and Internet-based world. To make the necessary changes internally to compete in a progressive market, these companies need solutions such as the OfficeServ 7000. Proper positioning and targeting of these key customers will be essential for Samsung and Voxitas to be able to capitalize on the opportunities growing in the market.
