Inter Mountain Cable Picks Sigma Systems for Device Provisioning and SIP Support

Sigma Systems, an enabler of Advanced IP Service Fulfillment solutions, announced recently that Inter Mountain Cable, a cable television company in the United States, has upgraded its broadband services solution to Sigma Systems' Device Provisioning Manager with support for Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP) devices.

In addition, Azar Computer Software Services worked with Sigma Systems to integrate its billing systems with the Device Provisioning Manager.

Sigma Systems’ (News - Alert) Device Provisioning Manager (DPM) enables service providers to easily auto-configure and provision business and residential end-user devices, including SIP devices.

As per this deployment, the Device Provisioning Manager will allow Inter Mountain Cable to more easily manage its service offerings, and cost-effectively scale as its subscriber base grows through automated device provisioning. Using an open API from Sigma Systems, Inter Mountain Cable's billing provider, Azar, was able to integrate its CATvMaster billing system with the Device Provisioning Manager for a streamlined deployment.

Azar specializes in the development of software solutions for Cable TV and Broadband service providers. Azar's CATvMaster(TM) Subscriber Billing and Management Software Solutions provide the tools to manage the daily and periodic billing operations for small to medium-sized operators.

"We turned to Sigma Systems for provisioning solution that supports DOCSIS along with SIP end-user devices," said Eddie Harris, director of Network Services for Inter Mountain Cable, in a release.

"The Device Provisioning Manager gives us the flexibility to modify our service packages to meet customer demand, while ensuring service delivery expectations," Harris added.

Sigma Systems said it will integrate its DPM with the ARRIS SIP-based Touchstone (News - Alert) Telephony Modem TM602.

"For over four decades Inter Mountain Cable has prided itself on delivering excellent service to its customers. Through our Device Provisioning Manager, Sigma Systems will help Inter Mountain Cable continue its exemplary service record, while allowing it to roll out new SIP-based services," said Tim Spencer, president and chief operating officer at Sigma Systems, in the release.

Inter Mountain Cable delivers services across three states - Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia.
